Welcome

Hie colleagues, I am back with a bang following a long period of inactivity on this site. I was broken-hearted after fishing was banned in South Africa during the Covid-19 era. I lost clients as a result of Covid-19 and disappointed some who had already arrived in the country when the ban struck like a bolt of lightning. I have now picked up the pieces and decided to resume my favorite hobby as well as provide a service to those who love this great sport.

Lets Go Fishing is a website designed to provide information on fishing in South Africa in particular, and Southern Africa in general. The blogger Babington Maravanyika is a journalist by profession but a fisherman at heart. He has fished at many dams in KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Gauteng and the North West provinces in South Africa. He has also fished in Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. This website will give information about such issues as security at the various dams, the type of fish that can be found, problems such as poaching, and facilities that can be found at the various fishing destinations. The blogger provides fishing lessons to both children and adults for a fee, and will also provide transport to fishermen wishing to join him on fishing excursions at various destinations. Babington also provides lessons in camping, canoeing and how to preserve fish while still out in the bundu, cooking fish, and the do’s and don’ts about life in the wild.
